“Siuan was fridged for Moiraine!” Mm no. You don’t get an epic death scene voiceover speech that guides the whole narrative if you’re being fridged. You don’t get the conclusion of your own narrative arc that has been prophesizing your downfall from s1. Also here’s an alternative: what if Siuan’s last act on this earth, after she publicly declared her love for Moiraine, was to give the love of her life the strength she needed to live and defeat the Dark. Without even knowing it. By standing for the Light, for the Aes Sedai and her oaths, Siuan saved Moiraine. What if you gave her that agency back that she fought so hard to keep as she made the ultimate sacrifice? And you bet your ass if she had to do it again she would.

God I have so much to say about Melinoe's characterization, and the fasinating implications about her future arc/the overarching plot of hades 2. I want to make a larger think piece with pictures but for the moment I'm just going to focus on this one specific thread.

In the wake of the Prometheus reveal, she has a slew of convos about his motivations for siding with Chronos, and the gods basically all go: this is his vengeance for us punishing him a tad cruelly. And Nemesis is like, yeah the gods 100% deserve it. But Meli's responds that he must have more motivation than just vengeance, it can't just be that. But when Prometheus explicitly goes, 'I'm doing this because the gods are horrible to humanity and I love humans,' she basically goes, no he must be lying. That motivation is both too pure, but also humans kind of suck why would you care about them?

Mel's humanity hot takes deserve it's own essay (Ms I think Humans should have never gotten fire and are better when they are dead), and I just want to focus on the former for now. She can not comprehend that Prometheus is fighting the gods for noble reasons. It just does not make sense to her. Mel's world is so black and white. She doesn't understand the nuance of the situation, and the thought that the gods might be actually in the wrong doesn't even get close to crossing her mind.

It's a fascinating (and horrifying) result of her upbringing. Of the constant state of war and the very convenient big bad that is Chronos, the evil monster who stole her family. If she accepts that his side isn't completely evil, that they might even be right in some (even many) respects, she would have to grapple with her whole life. Everything she believes would be thrown into question, the literal thing she was training her whole life for.

She can't have Prometheus fighting for a noble cause, because he fights for Chronos whose the Bad Guy tm. But he also can't be fighting for something as simple as vengeance, because that would also mean she would need to really think about what he's angry about. If the punishment was truly so unnecessary cruel.

When talking to Odysseus about Prometheus, when Ody's saying how much he respected him for stealing the fire despite knowing the consequences, Mel says that it was the price to be paid for breaking Olympus's decree. To her, Olympus's rules are sacred and ultimately good. Unquestionably. Prometheus broke the rules with intent, so to her, why would he be so angry at the consequences? Especially if he knew because of his power they were going to happen.

So he must have another reason, some secret machiavellian plan that drives him. Except as I already said, it brings her right back to him doing it for humanity, which she also can't accept. Because that would be admiting that the gods did something wrong to humans. She twists herself into knots to justify her worldview, and it's fascinating! She's so messy I adore her.

Please Supergiant please the final surface boss has to be a human pleeeaaasse (preferably a living one). Or at least have one (or more) show up in some other capacity. Mel needs to come face to face with the other side and have it utterly destroy her worldview.

And/or have (Pan)Dora betray her for Prometheus, that would also be very fun haha.

i Don't actually want langdon and santos to become besties or whatever next season. i want them both to feel kind of guilty about how everything went down but also sort of resentful and full of spite and i want them to keep on cordially disliking each other. like. not in a way that impedes care but definitely in a way that raises eyebrows. a real icy cordiality. I want them to totally understand each other's position and then be like. 'i get it but fuck you.' and then i want them to have a really awkward moment (maybe santos loses a patient or whatever and langdon's just 'standing man emoji' that sucks dude) that literally changes nothing about their relationship.

Ribs fall off the bone and biscuits always homemade and the DESSERTS they make.

The rest of the 141 was invited to a get-together at Simon's house for the first time, and the missus brought out the big guns. BBQ ribs and meaty beef brisket, corn bread with thick, dripping honey, mac n cheese with the crispy topping, green beans and sweet potatoes and all sorts of veggie goodness.

When you force them to sit down and insist that you bring all their plates to them with a tray of cold beer and a pitcher of your homemade sweet tea/lemonade, Price turns to Simon and gives him a look that screams "should anything happen to you she will be mine."

After dinner you bring out slices of warm apple pie with scoops of vanilla ice cream and old-fashioned peach cobbler, your great-grandma's recipe. The boys are out cold due to food comas by the time they inhaled everything you made for them.

LAWD have mercy all four boys are WHIPPED. Needless to say, should any sports games or meetings or parties of any kind be planned, ALL of them are held at the Riley's.

i love their dynamic so much here and in "all hail megatron", it's such a shame that their connection ended up being completely forgotten in the rest of idw series... reading "optimus prime" and coming across that one frame, observing what we have had and lost because the authors couldn't keep in mind how and who they were writing... it actually hurts

you guys. you guys! why are you doing this to us. why is it so hard for you to keep track on your story!! why do we have to see their relationship... fall apart?? without a decent look at it?? somewhere out there, in the background?? we're just left with the fact that they are over or maybe never even were there in the first place

prowl and jazz had so much potential at some point of idw history. the way how well they worked together despite all the difficulties, how sincerely prowl supported jazz even though he remained very closed off and aloof the whole time, how he really tried to be a good loyal friend, respected jazz's personal boundaries, didn't push, didn't go too far with his concern, didn't except anything in return and was just there to help... a rare bright moment for this version of my poor boy :'D

there were so many opportunities to develop this further, to show how they could exist in the new cybertronian future for which they had gone through so much hardship, how could they fight all the problems that were coming down on them, together, exactly as it was on earth. but, alas, we have to accept that they were quickly brushed aside and forgotten. a little time passes and they become strangers. forever. their entire bond is just erased. because that's how idw works with their characters...

I’m sure we all remember the “see you tomorrow” scene in whc1.

Well, now that hyunwook said that he and jihoon cried after that scene, I went to look at the complete scene (it appeared in its entirety on my fyp, thank u) and now I can’t unseen the fact that THEY WERE TRYING NOT TO CRY FOR REAL.

Like, it was an emotional scene so at the time I thought it was all the words that suho and sieun couldn't tell to each other, but now I can see ALSO hyunwook and jihoon there.

Something that irks me a bit about framing Jason as representative of all of the Joker's victims is that this view often fails to acknowledge that Bruce is also a victim of the Joker. The person who the Joker most specifically intends to hurt and manipulate in fact, and he's openly said this more times than I can really count. Part of how he does this is by constantly telling Bruce and his other victims like Jason and everyone else (including you, the audience) that everything he does is actually Bruce's fault and responsibility, and that on some level Bruce actually enjoys and wants it. Like I don't know why it's apparently not obvious that this is gaslighting and victim blaming? And you're not really supposed to believe him?

this year as a lando fan while it’s had its highs (it been great to witness everything he’s achieved) it’s been an absolute struggle more so than any other year, i’ve feel myself becoming less and less attached to the sport and to do so in the year he got his maiden win and was “fighting” for wdc feels so shitty. and the fact is it’s got absolutely nothing to do with lando himself, i will continue to support him no matter what, but the discourse surrounding him, people trying to minimise every achievement he got, the bombardment of hate towards him has been nothing less than disgusting, psychotic and heartbreaking. i used to come on this site and go through landos tag to see if id missed anything he’d been up to and it was something that brought joy to my day, however now i can’t scroll through the lando tag without seeing hate directed his way by people, (who are not only losing a few braincells with their inability to correctly anti tag), who just think it’s fun to wish injury and death on people and dont seem to understand the irony in a lot of their posts. not forgetting the insane lando hate anon, while yes i enjoyed laughing at, would flood lando fans inbox’s with hate anytime he so much as breathed. anytime i go on twitter i see more hate for lando from other drivers fan accounts than i see positive things about their drivers. the anti lando hate train that some people think is cool to be on isn’t. and it just shows how rotten of a person you are if no matter what your supposed favourite driver does the first words out of your mouth are about lando norris and reason 626174 of why you hate him. it’s very telling when people who claim they aren’t fans are more obsessed with talking about him than those who are, i beg you all seek help and get a hobby because this type of behaviour isn’t healthy both for yourself and for others around you to witness.
